I bet you have experienced this before….sometimes when someone from U.S. or Europe asks you where you from, you would definitely answer, “I’m from Indonesia.” The first response you’ll get is, “Where is that? Is it near Japan? or near Cambodia?”
On the other hand, let say you ask someone from other country (i.e. U.S. or any European country), “Have you ever been to Bali?”….Most response you will get is, “Yeah, I’ve been there. It’s beeeaaaautiful place, isn’t it?” or “Hey, you’ve been there?? WOW!! I wanna go there..” ( come on people, get your geography right!! :-p )
Maaaannn…..at least finally I got the chance to go to Bali again. After a long thought, I finally went there. It was a three-day-trip, an unforgettable one. I got the chance to do almost everything. I was lucky that I was given the honor to stay at the owner of Bali Zen Villas‘ house. It is located in Sanur Beach area, which is one of the most prominent beach in Bali besides Kuta.
It was a fantastic three days. I got the chance to go to Kuta on public transportation, rent a motorcycle, and drive around using the owner’s Ford Ranger. In addition, I got the chance to have eat at some nice warung and other food places (cheap food….yaaay!!!). I even had the chance to go to Uluwatu, which has a very beautiful view of the ocean.

I would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by the absence of my regular prose…. =P
N-e-way…..for the past weeks I’ve been occupied by my job that acquired me to complete all sort of things, which include marking final exams of students (how come it is always around the same percentage…60% pass and 40% fail…why can’t it be just 100% pass?? damn lazy students…), preparing the pre-board meeting reports, making reflective comments on the subject, etc.
I’m done with marking, on with the preparation of reports and any other kinds of B.S. reports. Anyway, somehow I managed to go online. Accidentally, I came to Paul Graham’s blog. He is the founder of ViaWeb, don’t know if you ever heard of him though. His company is a partner of Y Combinator, which is one of Web based company that give funding to computer geeks and entrepeneurs for startups funding. For those of you who don’t know startups, you can find more info at Startup School.
I found that Graham wrote some really interesting topics affiliated with the I.T. world. One of them is the four major reasons why Microsoft had died already. Can you guess any one of the reason? I guessed it right the first time….Google this Gates!!!…l0l.
By now, what Sergey Binn and Larry Page had done basically changed all the paradigm of how an e-business should do, and I believe in the coming future Google will outdone Microsoft in every way they can. Hallellujah!!……
In addition, more live Web based application has been developed by so many great young thinkers…Meebo was one of the first that I find very useful for all kinds of computer users. Now with tools like Snipshot, you already have a basic features of Photoshop-like application live on your browser where you can edit your lunatic picture and save it right away on your Flickr album. Convenience served right in front of your door
With Mac users increasing due to the great development and improvement of Mac OS by Apple, I do hope this Web 2.0 is the future of e-business. Since I already had a rough design of my prospective business, I will really depend on the availability of this technology in near future. I simply cannot wait for this to happen…….We’ll see.
Besides Graham’s Web site, I also ran into an expat’s blog who has been living in Indonesia, especially the island of Java for 5 years. Brandon Hoover, a native Michigan, came here 5 years ago and fell in love with not only Bali, but also other areas of Indonesia. He has some superb pictures taken from all over Indonesia for those who has never been here. Props for you man!!
I think I have written enough for this morning…My God, it’s 1 am already, I need my sleep……I hope everyone has a great weekend.
